The municipalities, together with the national park administration and the spa management, have also put together a wide range of mountain hikes.
There are easier and more difficult guided hikes almost every day.

But it is not only mountain hiking that is special in Berchtesgaden. Europe's first via ferrata school was opened in Berchtesgaden especially for climbing. On practice routes at Königssee, beginners can learn how best to master the challenges in the vertical. "This offer is unique in Europe," says Michael Graßl, chairman of the Association of German Mountain Guides, on whose initiative the opening of the "1st Salewa via ferrata school Berchtesgaden" goes back.
